Hello Sunshine Families,

Welcome to Summer 2022! We are getting excited for the summer and cannot wait to see new and returning smiling faces back at Oakland Park! I wanted to reach out to our current families to invite you to our Open House.

Open House
Tuesday July 5th
6:00pm – 6:30pm
Oakland Park – 76 Oakland Street, Medway

Bring any questions that you have about our program as well as your kiddos so that they can meet some of their counselors, check out our grounds, and possibly meet other kiddos in their groups!  The Open House will take place on July 5th from 6:00pm – 6:30pm, the night before our Summer Session starts.

Important Bus Route Information
We are working on finalizing the bus route and should have that to you soon! Once the bus route is finalized, you can use the departure time and the bus route to estimate when the bus will pick up your child(ren). Please be sure to be out early on the first day to ensure a smooth pickup. Once the bus goes through the route a few times, your pickup time should be stabilized by the 2nd week of our program and you can go out at the time the bus usually arrives at your house.

Hello Sunshine Families!

Child applications are now available for the summer 2022 session!

**Please note that instead of a deadline for applications, we have noted on the application that registration will close when we hit capacity. Capacity is determined based on staff recruitment and with consideration of any review of updated restrictions from the Board of Health. Please return applications ASAP to ensure your child’s place in the program.

A few updates:

• Field trips have been planned with the hopes that restrictions will remain minimal. Below is our schedule for the summer including weekly themes, field trips and special events such as the talent show and end of year carnival.
• We will be swimming at Hopkinton State Park on Fridays since Fino pool is being renovated.

July 12-15 – Characters Week

July 19-22 Community Helpers / Occupations
Thursday 7/21 – Hopkinton State Park ( Note that swimming is Thursday this week! )
Friday 7/22 – Walpole Children’s Theater

July 26-29 – Science Week
Thursday 7/28 – Urban Air Bellingham
Friday 7/29 – Hopkinton State Park beach for swimming

August 2-5 – Mystery Week (Theme(s) for the week will be a surprise!)
Thursday 8/4 – Sunshine Talent Show – FAMILIES WELCOME!
Friday 8/5 – Kayaking Field Trip at Hopkinton State Park (swimming also an option)

August 8-12 Fun and Fitness Week
Thursday 8/11 – Southwick’s Zoo
Friday 8/12 – Sunshine Group End of Summer Carnival

As a reminder, summer 2022 program dates will be July 6 – August 12th. As mentioned in our previous blog, we are hopeful for a return to normalcy but will be planning with safety in mind until we receive further guidance on summer programs from the state. Hello Sunshine Families!

We are happy to begin thinking about summer and warmer days! Please note that our program dates will be July 6 – August 12th for Summer 2022. Weekly themes and trips will be posted once finalized.

As you all know, state and local guidelines are still evolving. We are hopeful for a return to normalcy, but will be planning with restrictions in mind until we receive further guidance on summer programs from the state. Thank you for your patience! We will provide updates as soon as possible! Please subscribe to this blog if you would like to receive emails when new information is posted.

Here is what we know so far:

• We will follow local guidance on mask wearing, cohort grouping, and capacity for our program
• Field trips will be planned for the summer if restrictions allow
• Fino pool in Milford is being renovated, so we are looking into other options for Friday swimming

For now, we just wanted to give you this quick update on program dates and share what we know so far. Additionally, we have posted the Summer 2022 Staff Application and Volunteer Application!

Student applications will be posted following staff recruitment and after review of updated restrictions which will determine the number of students we will be able to host this summer.

When student applications are available, we will post on our blog! Subscribing to our blog is the best way to stay up to date by receiving emails when we post applications, provide updates on restrictions and share new information.
