Wacky Wednesday!!

It has been a wild and wacky week here at camp.  Campers have turned into brilliant scientists planting seeds, mixing colors, building roller coasters, and trying out creations with an egg drop project.  We also launched a diet coke and mentos rocket on the field before heading to mini-sessions where we learned about Taekwondo, Dance, Music, Transformers, Football, Rocks and Abstract Color.

Tomorrow we head to the museums and we cannot wait!  Please remember red camp tshirts and sneakers!  Also, tomorrow is an extended day with an expected return time of 2pm.  Please pack snack, drink, and lunch!

FIELD TRIP LOCATIONS AND TIMES:

Week Two: Boston Museums: 2pm
Week Three: Southwick’s Zoo: 12:30pm
Week Four: Movies: 12:30pm
Week Five: One Stop Fun: at least 1pm (official time to be confirmed soon)
Week Six: Hopkinton State Park: 12:30pm

Imaginations Run Wild!

What a wonderfully wacky start to Wacky Week!  Groups were busy trying some experiments, making scientific discoveries, designing silly masks, and more.  Some groups played Ice Age tag with wooly mammoths and other animals getting “frozen in ice.”  Other groups worked together to answer science trivia questions!  There were scavenger hunts and nature walks and we weren’t even bothered by a bit of rain early in our day. Tomorrow the adventures continue!

Please print, sign and return the permission slip for this week’s field trips. Please note that our return time is later than a normal camp day!

Group 1 is off to the Children’s Museum in Boston
Group 2 is heading to the Science Museum.

Also, we want to extend a big thank you to the many families who donated supplies from our wish list.  Every generous gift is greatly appreciated!

First Day at the Pool!

We started with some cloudy skies and cooler temperatures, but the weather turned around once we got to the pool.  The water was a bit chilly, but the campers adjusted quickly and had a fabulous time in the water!  They were busy splashing, swimming, playing, and continuing to develop friendships.  It was a wonderful way to end a fun-filled first week!

Next week’s theme is Wacky Week (some science, some silliness, and more).

Please see the wish list below.  If you are interested in making contributions to camp, this list offers you an idea of what we need most.

Have a wonderful weekend and get ready to be wacky!
