Today was our last day of the 2022 summer Sunshine Group session! We had such a wonderful summer with our kids and staff.

For today’s carnival we rented a moonwalk, obstacle course, slip and slide, and a dunk tank. For food we had popcorn, snow cones, and cotton candy. Tina from TC Scoops donated Italian ice which was a huge hit!

It was great to have families join in on the fun. We loved getting to see old staff return as well and meet new families that had never experienced our carnival before. The kids were thrilled with their memory books that staff worked very hard on.

We want to express our gratitude to everyone that makes the Sunshine Group the wonderful place that is it. We hope to see everyone back next summer!!

Today’s field trip was to Southwick’s Zoo! We had a quick circle before loading the busses. Once there, we were able to see the animals.

The petting zoo was a hit! Many kids and staff loved the baby goats. The monkeys came to play – there was even a baby swinging around! The tigers and lions were tired in the heat.

In the deer forest the deer were eating. Many kids got to feed them and get up close with them which was incredibly fun!

Tomorrow is our last day of with the Sunshine Group this summer. While we are sad to see another summer end, we are ecstatic for the carnival!! Please have kids wear clothes they do not mind getting wet as there will be many water options.

We appreciated the cool weather today! While the water slide was not set up, we did utilize the slip and slide along with the foam machine.

Many of our Groups ended up intermingling today, which was great. We spent lots of time on the playground and in the field playing games like keep it up, parachute, and Olympic themed games.

Crafts included colorful salt art, playdough, marble run, and paper crafts like foam fingers.

Groups had choices like sand box, foam machine, slip and slide, basketball, and playground.

Overall it was a fantastic day! We are very excited for Southwick tomorrow!
