Today was a busy and active day at camp as we learned all about how to stay healthy. Campers learned about the food pyramid and then decided on healthy choices for their plates. We had some great presentations today as well.

Steve, an EMT/firefighter, came and talked about fire safety and let the kids try on some of the firefighter equipment. Jerry and Nick talked about football. They showed us the pads they need to wear and demonstrated some of the moves for their positions. Emily, Kelsey, and Amanda taught us about field hockey and showed some of the equipment. This was a first time experience for many!

This week’s field trip is to One Stop Fun, which is an indoor playground. Please make sure to sign and bring in the waiver form as well as the permission slip.

It is hard to believe that next week is our last week. The last day of camp will be a special carnival. There will also be a slides how presentation showing on that day. You can purchase the sideshow on the last day, or you can pre-order a copy of the DVD with this order form.

Today we started with a fabulous talent show where many talents were displayed by campers and staff.  We had singers, musicians, magicians, dancers, comedians, and more.  Everyone did a fantastic job with their performances.

After the show was finished, we headed to the pool to cool off.  Thankfully the sun was out and shining so it was a beautiful day to swim.

Next week’s theme is Healthy Self. Have your child come in to camp with a food container (empty) so we can compare nutrition facts.  If your child has a favorite activity he/she can bring in a piece of equipment as well.

We had a great time at the movie theater today!  Monsters University was an entertaining, funny movie.  We even had a true movie experience with a special popcorn treat.  It was a perfect trip for Hollywood week!

Tomorrow we will head to the pool for swimming right after our talent show, which starts at 9:30.

Next week, our field trip has a permission slip, as well as an additional waiver form that needs to be completed and returned.  We will be going to One Stop Fun which has an indoor playground area, a gymnastics room, and more.  It should be a super fun trip for Healthy Self week!
