Science and Water Exploration Week

World Exploration Week was very successful!  The children seemed to enjoy Thursday’s field trip to the Ecotarium and we capped off the week with a fun time at the pool.  It is hard to believe that we have completed four weeks of camp and we only have two more left!

A few reminders going forward:

  • We are a peanut-free environment.  Please keep this in mind when packing snacks and lunches.
  • Friday, August 5th will be our Annual Sunshine Talent Show.  The show will take place at 9:30am and we will then head to the pool after the show is complete.  Parents are invited to join us for the show!
  • Week Five is Science and Water Exploration Week and we will be headed to the Children’s Museum in Boston.  Please send in the permission slip as soon as possible.

Cleared for Takeoff!

We are cleared for takeoff and away we go!  Today our travels took us to the countries of Mexico, Japan, China, and more!  It has been quite a whirlwind adventure.  In Mexico, we stopped to design and decorate a poncho.  Once that was complete, we traveled to China and learned about the Chinese Zodiac and the various animals that represent each year.  Campers designed wreaths to help them remember which animal goes with the year in which they were born.  We have horses, goats, pigs, and even monkeys here at camp!  The next stop on our journey was in Japan.  We designed special fans to help us keep cool in the sun!  Tomorrow we travel to the Ecotarium!

Reminder:  Please fill out the permission slip for tomorrow’s trip to the Ecotarium.

Bonjour! Hola! Ni hao! Hello!

This week we have become world travelers.  The passports were stamped, binoculars packed, and the travels began!  Our children toured countries such as England, France, Jamaica, and many more!  They saw the flags for each country, learned some facts about each one, and even learned some words in other languages!  In music, with Alexis, they sang in other languages and talked about foods from around the world.  After discussions about Chinese and Italian food choices, I think everyone was a little hungrier.  The adventures will continue tomorrow as we learn even more about our amazing world!

**Please remember to fill out the permission slip for our field trip to the Ecotarium on Thursday.  It is available in the post below.
