The Sunshine Group had a fantastic first day back! We are so excited to meet and make new friends, which is very fitting for our first week’s theme, Friendship! Our whole program started the day with a morning circle, sang a few songs, and then we split into groups to do our daily activities!

Red group made friendship bracelets, paper chain friends, and puzzle pieces during craft. During field, they played some get-to-know-you games, like “I’ve got mail…” and a name game. They also did a water relay and some rounds of Duck Duck Goose!

Orange group made name creatures and puzzle pieces and had some fun during choice time on the playground and waterslide. We finished our day in the field playing Drip Drip Drop and “I’ve Got Mail….”

Yellow and Green group wrote letters to their future selves (which we will open later this summer) and built gumdrop and toothpick structures. We played some games in the field, like Copy Cat, Captain’s coming and “I’ve got mail….” Finally, we had a choice of playground or Legos to end our day.

Hello All,

We are getting excited for the summer and cannot wait to see all the smiling faces back at Oakland Park! We have been working hard to plan for a fun and safe summer and are ready to share our protocols with you! This will be shared in the form of a parent packet which will explain new arrival procedures and safety protocols. Please check your emails for the Parent Packet!

Additionally, instead of the Open House that we typically host, we have included all important information in the Parent Packet and will be hosting a virtual open house for anyone who would like to meet a counselor or two from their group, hear more about our program, or ask any questions. The Virtual Open House will be the night before camp starts, July 6th from 6:00 – 6:30pm.

Additionally, we have been able to lower our age range to 4. If your child is 4 years old and up, they can sign up for our program. Please note that our program is close to capacity, but we have a few more spots and would like to include 4-year-old students now that our guidelines have allowed us to make a few changes.
