The Rain Never Bothered Me Anyway!

Today was an extra fun day at camp!

The Red Group started the day by making pixie dust and hand puppets! We also played tag in the rain which was so much fun!

The Orange Group started at arts and crafts where we made our own wands and then made roll the dice monsters/pokemon! Then we had snack and sang camp songs!

The Yellow Group played “capture the superman” and “night at the museum” with the Green Group in the field! Then we played “wizards, giants, and elves!”

The Green Group had so much fun playing games with the Yellow Group in the field! Then we made lava lamps, bubble snakes, and dragon eggs at crafts! The whole camp then enjoyed a counselor production of “Shrek” in the Senior Center while we dried off and warmed up!

Reminder: We will have a change in our schedule this week. We will be going to the pool on Thursday, and our field trip to Walpole Children’s Theater will be on Friday.

Important Info about The Play

The Wizard of Oz – Walpole Children’s Theater

Below is a preview of the play we will be seeing on Friday. The trailer includes images of the witch, the monkeys and the Wizard of Oz which might be useful to preview the elements that may be scary for your child. We have been told that scary elements have been balanced by funny characters and scenes with the witch are not very long. However, if you have a child that may be scared of these things, it might also be helpful to watch the original wizard of Oz, as Walpole Children’s Theater explained to us that the play is very similar to the original movie. It might also reassure little ones to know that the characters will be all right at the end!

Wonderful Wizard of Oz Trailer

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz opened last night to rave reviews!! Beat the heat in our air conditioned theater and help WCT celebrate 50 years!

A Perfect Day!

Today, The Sunshine Group enjoyed a sunny day in the pool! Everyone had fun swimming and playing with friends! We played Marco Polo, lounged in the water, played football and splashed around with friends- it was a perfect day!

Next week there will be a change in pool/ field trip schedule. We will go to the pool Thursday and go on the field trip Friday. We will be going to the Walpole Children’s Theater to see Wizard of Oz, which only has a Friday daytime showing. We should be back by 12:00 for a normal dismissal.

Fun at the Zoo

We had a blast at the zoo today! We saw so many animals- zebras, giraffes, monkeys and many more. Some of us even got to see an elephant take a bath!!

Despite a rainy forecast, we got lucky and didn’t get any rain! Let’s hope that continues for the rest of the summer!

Tomorrow we will be heading to the pool! Don’t forget to have children wear their bathing suits in the morning and pack the following items in their backpacks: a change of clothes, any flotation devices that your child wears to swim, a towel and a snack. Please remember to apply sunscreen at home, because we cannot apply sunscreen to your children!
