Reading, writing, and becoming story characters

It was another super day at camp today!  There were some repeat activities from yesterday, such as cloud making and Seuss hats for anyone who didn’t get a chance to do them yesterday.  There were also many campers who were writing their own stories becoming authors themselves!  There was an opportunity to dress up as our favorite story characters and some campers played “favorite book” blob tag!

Tomorrow we head off on our field trip to One Stop Fun!  We will get to play in an indoor playground and go swimming, plus much more!  It should be loads of fun for everyone!

Remember to bring bathing suits, towels, SOCKS, sneakers, camp tshirts, snack, water bottle, and lunch!

Author Week Begins!

It is wonderful to see how many campers we have who are excited about reading!  Some of the authors and books discussed today include Eric Carle, Dr. Seuss, the Arthur series, and Harry Potter.

We had a rousing game of Quidditch that was set up very similar to the game from the Harry Potter series and some of our campers were able to explain the rules!  We made hats just like the Cat in the Hat’s and sock puppets that we used to animate our own stories!  We also were able to fully experience Dr. Seuss’ story of Bartholomew and the Oobleck by getting our hands in some oobleck of our own while listening to the story!

Our field trip this week is to One Stop Fun; please remember to send in the permission slip and waiver.
