Plenty of Sunshine for a Day at the Pool!

It is so nice when the best day of the week (weather-wise) appears on Friday!

It was an absolutely beautiful day for swimming.  The water was a little warmer this week, but was extremely refreshing.  The kids had a great time splashing, playing, and becoming better swimmers.  It was a great way to finish green week as we enjoyed nature both in and out of the pool.

Next week we shift to Author Week, which will include many favorites like Dr. Seuss but may also introduce the kids to some books and/or authors that may be brand new!

A Great Day at the Aquarium!

We had an absolute blast at the aquarium today!  We saw penguins (lots of them), sharks, fish of all kinds, turtles, and more!  A highlight for many was getting the opportunity to touch some of the creatures, especially the rays!

Many campers did a scavenger hunt trying to find a fish or some kind of animal for each letter of the alphabet!  All in all, it was a successful trip and everyone learned something new!

Tomorrow we head to the pool!  Remember bathing suits, towels, snack, water bottle, and change of clothes!

Green Week Continues Despite the Rain!

We were not quite as lucky today as we were yesterday and the rain came pouring down just after camp got started!  Luckily, it was a quick and easy move to transfer camp inside.

Our crafts and some of our activities were able to come inside so it was a regular camp day and we continued to explore and learn about animals, helping the planet, and more.  Kids made their own aquarium, drew pictures of animals they hope to see at the New England Aquarium tomorrow, and more.

One of our campers, Carolyn, led a class on making dolls out of yarn and did a fantastic job! When the rain finally let up, we were able to enjoy some outdoor activities, including a fun sponge relay!

Our mini sessions were a big hit as the campers got to learn about dance, taekwondo, yoga, and archery.  Tomorrow we head to the aquarium which should be a super awesome trip. Remember camp t-shirt, sneakers, snack, lunch, and water!
