Day 2 of Camp – All About Animals

Imaginative play was mixed with learning about animals as we began day two at camp.

Group one played a super fun game of Simon Says which included sounding like a lion, standing like a flamingo, and getting wings like a bird!  Sometimes Simon tried to catch someone not listening but it didn’t work very often!  Our campers were listening carefully.

Group two created grasshoppers and other creatures at arts & crafts before heading down to the field to bring these creatures to life!

Tomorrow we head to Southwicks Zoo! Please remember to send in a signed permission slip: Southwick’s Zoo Permission Slip.  Your child(ren) will get their camp shirt tomorrow morning at camp.

We Made Lots of Noise, Enjoyed a Movie, and Performed Like Superstars!

Next week our theme is WAYS TO GET FROM ONE PLACE TO ANOTHER. We’ll be traveling from one country to another, packing out suitcases, stamping our passports, and deciding which means of transportation is the best way to get there. Our field trip will be to the Ecotarium in Worcester, which will conclude with a train ride around the museum.

LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS

A “carnival coordinator” is needed for the last day of camp. We’ll have several stations – popcorn machine, snowcone, cotton candy, dunk tank, bouncy castles, a slip and slide, and TC Scoops will be providing ice cream for us. We need parents to help man those stations.

Please let Barbara know if you can help!  You can contact her by email: Ohanian6@yahoo.com

Another Day of Exciting Science and Experiments!

Our scientists were hard at work today! We learned about creating a vacuum to get an egg inside a bottle, making elephant toothpaste, creating an eruption with diet coke and mentos, and we even made our own ice cream and play-doh! We learned all about rocks from our resident geologist, Joe! Some of our scientists even made their own telescopes to help them see the stars in the night sky.

Tomorrow will be so much fun as we learn even more about science as we travel through the museum. Please remember camp tshirts, sneakers, snack, and lunch.

Remember: tomorrow is an extended day and we will return to camp at 2pm.
