Well, what’s with this?! Hazy, hot and humid the first two days, and cloudy and cool on pool day! Oh, well. It made absolutely no difference to most of the children. They were little fish! Actually, the water wasn’t bad.

We had a wonderful first week of TEAMWORK! New friendships were formed and old friendships rekindled. Next week we move to the MYTHICAL theme. Be on the lookout for wizards, superheroes, unicorns, and who knows what else.

Field Trip Permission Slip

On Thursday, 7/14, we will be taking our first field trip to see Finding Dory at the Bellingham Movie Theater!  The permission slip is due by Tuesday.

Day two has been another success! The teamwork that has been happening within the groups is wonderful to see. Each group is working together to create, build, discover, and more!

Today, some groups took on a challenge to build a house for a creature to live in using limited supplies. They had to work together to figure out what would work best. Other groups worked together to design and build a train; communication was key as they fit the pieces together. Another group went on a scavenger hunt all over the field and playground to find puzzle pieces they had designed yesterday so they could put together their group design!

We Go to the Pool Tomorrow !!

Tomorrow, we head to the pool for our first day of swimming! Please send your child(ren) in bathing suits if possible, so they will be ready to get on the bus when it is time to head to the pool. If your child(ren) need any swimming assistance (floaties, wings, etc.), please be sure to pack them tomorrow as well.

We are off and running! It was a hot one today, but we managed to stay cool and everyone had a blast on the first day! There were water stations, water activities, and shady areas to stay cool during the morning.

While keeping cool, the week’s “Teamwork” theme was up and running with activities to help everyone get to know each other as each of our groups work to truly become a team. Friendship bracelets were made, team challenge activities were completed, and smiles were endless everywhere you looked!  Cannot wait for day two tomorrow!
