Bowling Fun

The Sunshine Group had another amazing day. While we couldn’t swim in Hopkinton, we did get an extra day of fun in the sun.

Our day started with a silly joke and a camp sing along song.

Red Group started their day playing with shaving cream. They drew silly pictures and patterns on the tables. They also played red light, green light.

Orange Group started their day with a choice of playground and chalk.

The Yellow and Green Groups played field games in rotation. They had water games, sports, and even an obstacle course! Before loading onto the bus, they snuck in a game of popcorn on the parachute.

After snack, everyone loaded onto the bus and we headed to Ryan’s Family Amusement. We really lucked out as the place was pretty empty. We had tons of lanes to spread out so everyone got plenty of turns bowling!

Overall, we had a fantastic day! We are looking forward to seeing everyone for Character Week!

Another Day of Fun in the Sun!

We had another beautiful day in the sun here at The Sunshine Group! Thank you for sharing your children with us!

Today, the Red Group made aquariums in a bag with hair gel! They also played kerplunk, built creations with Legos, and drew with chalk! For choice, they played on the playground or splashed around on the slip and slide or on the water slide! Then they ended the day with field games.

The Orange Group had a blast on the slip and slide and water slide to start their day! Then they played capture the flag on the field. For crafts, they made aquariums in a bag and made popsicle stick crafts like watermelon fans – how creative!

Yellow and Green Group kiddos started their day in the field playing games with their friends. Then they did crafts and made watermelon fans, cat’s eyes with yarn, watermelon sensory bags and painted kindness rocks! To end their day they went on the water slides or on the playground to play with their friends!

Tomorrow we will not be going to Hopkinton state park due to the water quality advisory. Instead, we will spend a portion of our morning here at Oakland park and then we will head over to Ryan Family Amusements for an hour of bowling before returning to Oakland park for a regular dismissal.

A Fabulous Day of Fun in the Sun!

We started off the first day of the 2022 Sunshine Group summer session with Circle Time. We sang two songs: “Brown Squirrel” and “You Are My Sunshine.”

Red Group started with crafts. They made sunflowers and name tags on paper plates. How fun!! During snack campers read and chatted. They had choice time next – their choices were tag and playground. For field games, we had Mitch from Knucklebones lead some games. They played keep it up, balance ball, and foot golf!

Orange Group started their day on the playground. They had snack under the Gazebo where it was nice and cool. As they were munching they listened to a counselor read “One Fish Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish” by Dr. Suess. Afterwards, they joined Mitch for games including keep it up, foot golf, and chase the tail! Lastly, for craft, they made animal and tissue paper masks!

The Yellow and Green Groups began their day on the Field. Mitch had lots of fun planned for them. First they played keep it up with a MASSIVE volleyball. He threw two of them in the mix. Next they played foot golf. They ended with a game of Indiana Jones. Next, they transitioned to snack. Some campers listened to some books while others chatted with friends. For craft they made bubble blowers, paper flowers, and sun visors. Finally, campers had the opportunity to choose between playground or playing on our brand new waterslide!

Overall, the Sunshine Group had a fabulous day of Fun in the Sun!
